I have been looking for a job for quite some time. I fear that my recent employer tells people a half truth as to why she fired me. She told me that she would say that I was fired for having too many write ups, but now she is telling them that I stole money out of the drawer. In truth, I did not steal anything! I actually put money in the drawer often (out of my own pocket) to ensure that my drawer was even. I tried telling her the truth about the situation, she wouldnt hear a word of it. This is what happened:
One day, a lady came in and pre-payed for her gas. She only pumped 25.25 and paid for 30. She came in shortly after, and gave me a quarter, said keep the change, turned and left. Not realizing she forgot her remaining 5, i took it out of the drawer and set it on top of the register waiting for her return. She never came back. (It shows all this on the video, but no audio) Needless to say, I kept the change. I know the truth yet she wants to believe what she has been trained to look for. How can I either make amends to the company or should I count my loss and leave this off of my resume'? I only worked there for 6months. Please advise.
Answer:It is against the law for her to say if you were fired..All she is suppose to say is you worked there or not..Record a friend calling her about you for a job and see what she says..IF she does indeed say you were fired, then you have grounds to sue..
Answer:Well I would of put the $ in a envelope dated signed and gave explanation and put it in drawer of register.
Answer:Leave it off your resume. When you work a job that requires you to handle money always leave the money you get in the register. It will always be hard to explain that situation.
