Can you do the Spec-Ops Missions with your friends on X-Box Live even if they aren't anywhere near you? Or do you need 2 people playing on the same console? If you can do it with a friend from X-Box Live how do you do it?

Yes you can do Spec-Ops online. Just go to the Spec-ops section and there's an option to invite a friend. Send them an invite and then pick the mission you want to do.
Answer:connect to xbox live go into spec ops and i pretty sure theres an option to xbox live rather then local
